dm Goh enjoys cooking and eating simple and healthy dishes like ABC soup and steamed fish. This dish is very nutritious, with its name 'ABC soup' derived from having Vitamin A from the carrots, Vitamin B from the potatoes, and Vitamin C from the tomatoes.

Traditionally speaking, it is widely believed that the ABC soup originated in Malaysia. But what makes this soup interesting is that every culture has its own spin when cooking the ABC soup. For example, Malaysians enjoy adding spring onions into their ABC Soup, but Mdm Goh’s version omits the spring onions, presenting it as a simpler dish than usual.

Ingredients

  • 9 chicken wings

  • 1 carrot, sliced

  • 1 potato, chopped

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 tomato, chopped

  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Remove the skins of tomatoes and potatoes (tip: blanch by placing them boiling water before transferring into an ice bath - allows easier removal of the skin)
  • Boil a pot of hot water and add all the ingredients into the pot
  • Leave to boil for about 15 minutes or until the chicken is tender and cooked, stirring occasionally
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
